Dorris Ranch Oregon Country Wedding

Dorris Ranch Oregon Country Wedding

I had a blast photographing Amanda and Jim's wedding at Dorris Ranch in Springfield Oregon.

Not only are they interesting, kind, photogenic and easy going people, but Amanda had done an incredible job putting together her outdoor Oregon wedding.

Everything I saw was flawless.  She did a great job creating the rustic country look for a wedding in an orchard, working with her wedding coordinator, Krista Albert who helped provide Amanda some great structural elements to the overall wedding scene.

Talk about an awesome wedding for a photographer, it had so many creative elements my eye had a feast.

Years ago I had photographed Amanda's High School senior portraits, so when she booked me for her wedding it was an honor to know that she liked what I had done.  She and Jim had a long engagement which gave her time to create the wedding of her dreams.

Jim is from Pennsylvania and is a private corporation jet pilot who has been hired to fly many famous people (from Ben Stiller to Jennifer Garner) all over North and Central America. Because of his job, he is able to relocate here so he and Amanda can begin their life together in Eugene.

We first did their engagement portraits on the Science Factory with some colorful balloons to go with the colorful building.amandalangansLater, we went before to Alton Baker Park (Springfield side) for a more woodsy look. amandalangahns

The wedding day was perfect, no wind, no heat, no rain, just a pleasant warm afternoon and evening. Amanda wanted the first look to be something different, so she had purchased these giant white balloons online and hid behind them before Jim saw her.  <3

Dorris Ranch has so many photographic options for wedding photographers, espcially the Filbert (hazelnuts for your non-Oregonians) Orchard:

Amanda got her dress at the Shabby Chic Bridal in Salem.  My lighting assistant used a video light to highlight this work of art.

Amanda wore two types of shoes for her wedding.

Here are some of my other favorite images taken before the wedding:

And the wedding scene in the orchard was stunning.

After the wedding with the golden light late in the afternoon.

Cake My Day made two very unique wedding cakes, including an appropriate groom cake.

The Caterer was Sheild Catering and the food was not only delicious, but served on time (which is key to make sure a wedding goes smoothly).

The food was in the barn at Dorris Ranch.

Fallon Love was the DJ and played some great music.

The party went on well after the sun went down at the Dorris Ranch Oregon Country Wedding.img_3235
