Summer Oregon Wedding in Eugene: Serena & Randall at the Nines.
Summer Oregon Wedding in Eugene Years ago I had photographed Salena's High school senior portraits, so when she met up with me at the Eugene Oregon bridal show in January (the first wedding show I'd be at for 12 years) and told me about her August wedding, I was excited because I knew she would be a wonderful bride.
Weddings truly are a joy. Not only are they fun to be at or be in, they are also a blast to photograph. Everyone looks their best, people are happy and anticipating when two lives pledge to become one. Not only is it union of two people, but a huge family reunion and party all rolled into one.
I got to meet her fiance' during the engagement photo shoot. We started near Autzen Stadium. Why? Because her fiance was Randall Bowen, a Compton California native, who played football as a defensive tackle for the Oregon Ducks in the early 2000's (Joey Harrington era). There aren't too many people that I photograph who are taller than me, but he was-no wonder he was a great lineman. After we photographed them there, we then went to Alton Baker Park for more greenery.
It became apparent to me that not only was Randall a nice, easy going guy, but that he and Salena have a wonderful relationship-having been together for over a decade. (I know they heard multiple times: "When are you getting married anyway?")
They chose RiverRidge Golf Course in Eugene as their Oregon wedding venue. The Nines has a beautiful outside area under trees, as well as the use of the air conditioned former club house that included not only a brides' room but a walk in freezer-which was utilized by many during this hot day.
We found many great locations on the par 3 golf course. Although it would have been exciting to dodge flying golf balls from hackers like me, the course was shut down for the wedding.
This gorgeous bridal bouquet was provided by Patton's Country Garden florists in Eugene.
Here is a photograph of me taken by my daughter with my infra red camera-getting low.
Infra red is a cool effect that I use sparingly-but love the look. It turns the sky black and foliage white. Almost making it look like a winter wedding.
Here is another on the bridge...my daughter-who is my assistant took this photo. (I did the photoshop work.)
Here are some other favorites:
The gown was purchased at Blush Bridal in Eugene, a great wedding gown store. This was taken after the ceremony near sunset.
Here is a short video trailer of more photographs taken during Salena and Randall's wedding.
