Pacific City Oregon, a photographers paradise

Pacific City Oregon, a photographers paradise: As a 5th generation Oregonian, I've been blessed to be all over the state, from Portland to Ashland, Newport to Baker City, from French Glen to Crater Lake.  But one of my all time favorite places is Pacific City.

Here are some recent personal images.

This is the view from our deck.  Can't get much better than this.  Haystack Rock here is bigger than the Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, but we nicknamed it Gorilla Rock-which I think is more fitting.

The sand dune at Pacific City has to be one of the largest in the Northwest.  It takes a lot of effort to climb to the top.  This effect was going for a slightly painted effect.

Here is one of the famous Dory boats coming in from a day of fishing.  What is cool about Pacific City (aka Cape Kiwanda), is that the boats actually launch from the beach (and return that way as well....we had quite a thrill when we were on one over a year ago.)dory boat boogie boarders oregon coast

Gray whales frolic here as well, using the rocks to rub off barnacles.  But its also great for dogs (what beach isn't?)dogs in surf coast

Pacific City is 10 minutes north of Neskowin (which is 10 minutes north of Lincoln City), which is a cute little village with some interesting homes and features like this glass path and buoys and a swing set with a great view of the Pacific.
